Mehrpouya Abdollahi was a Bakhtiari man living in Fooladshahr, Isfahan. Although he had been staying in Kerman for a period due to his father's work, his family’s primary residence remained in Fooladshahr. In early January 2026, he failed to return home, and it was soon discovered that he had been arrested by security forces in Kerman. After weeks of missing information regarding his whereabouts, his family received his body on January 30, 2026. He had reportedly died in custody on January 24, 2026. Because his body showed no visible signs of physical trauma or external injuries, his family suspects he was killed through forced medication or a lethal injection while in detention. He was buried in his hometown of Fooladshahr.
